Called melanonychia, lines on one nail are most concerning. Some bands relate to meds, pregnancy, or natural pigmentation, yet any new or changing streak should be checked. Subungual melanoma is the chief fear; early action matters. Widening, darkening, or irregular lines need evaluation quickly.
